In death, you have single-handedly managed to create the greatest
choose-your-own-adventure, ever. Now, everyone can imagine their
own ending to the series, or argue about it with their friends,
and other fans. As long as your friends and family do not decide
to cobble together the final book from your incomplete writings, that is.
You had a good life, and you are no longer in pain.

the rumor circulating the bookstore higher-ups is that he gave an outline to his editor and his wife, and that she would finish under his name. I have no idea how valid this rumor is.

Yeah,I would not be surprised if that is the case. I strongly suspect we'll see a frankenbook to cap off the series.
